Wheelchair access to ‘Swim 4’ at the western end of the lake is already possible thanks to the new all-weather footpath from the Hambledon Road car park that was completed in 2017. We are now planning further improvements that will enable access to the larger ‘Swim 3’ as well for anglers with impaired mobility.
This week, we braved the cold weather – including a few snow flurries! – to spread some more wood chippings over some of the very muddy paths along the southern bank of the lake. This should make them much more passable than they have been during the very wet weather that we’ve had recently.
We have a very exciting project that aims to create a nesting habitat for 1 – 2 kingfisher pairs. The project duration is expected to be 9 hours spread over several days.
